I have studied at a graduate level, have a major in linguistics, and currently work as an academic tutor and assessor at the University of Adelaide. As such, I have a sound grasp of the English language and am well equipped for the work of proofreading and tutoring in the area of essay writing. The areas of writing that are of particular interest to me include social sciences, youth and social work, English, linguistics, and theology. I worked in primary schools in the Adelaide Hills for ten years in both well-being and educational support for classrooms and special education. This work has included supporting students in developing their literacy and numeracy with the use of specialized learning tools and programs. I can work with high school and undergraduate students in proofreading, essay planning, writing, and editing. Primary-aged students can receive support in reading, writing, spelling, grammar, and punctuation. I can also support ESL (English as a 2nd language) students of all ages.

I am passionate about learning and about helping others to be equally as passionate about their own learning experience! My work in schools included working with students specifically to develop "growth mindsets" in all areas of life. This belief in oneself and the drive to learn is foundational to all growth. It recognises that the best learning comes with a commitment to keep going even when it's tough, to seek help/feedback and to learn from mistakes until breakthrough happens. I have also been a church pastor in the past, reflecting my passion to help others thrive in all areas of life. Some of my hobbies include: - sport (squash, cricket, cycling) - reading - music (guitar, bass, drums, keyboard, percussion) - fishing - going for walks with my kids!
